Publisher's Synopsis
The catalogue provides a summary of the results obtained by The Royal Commission in its nineteenth annual programme of aerial survey. As in earlier years, the main task has been to engage in wide-ranging prospective reconnaissance with the long-term purpose of recording the country's archaeological heritage through the expansion and refinement of information in the National Monuments Record of Scotland. In addition, wherever practicable, the survey has sought to complement the Commission's diverse programme of field recording of both archaeological and architectural sites.
