Wyatt's tired of dreaming the same dream of a tree with a beating heart, but most of all, Wyatt's tired of waking up to the same reality: his dad left, and his mom won't talk about it. Wyatt is on his own.
So, without a second thought, he follows a mysterious stranger off the bus and deep into the woods. When she leaps into a mirror, Wyatt doesn't ask questions. He jumps right in.
On the other side, Wyatt finds himself propelled into a cataclysmic battle between heaven and earth, guided by an overgrown wolf with a dark secret, a mage made of wood, and an irritable manticore. He must find the stranger and stop the Dragon before it's too late.
