Publisher's Synopsis
Campaigning with Crook is one of Charles King's most popular books and is considered one of the best first-person accounts of the western Indian Wars of over 100 years ago. Soldier, military historian and novelist, King was one of the few military officers to have served in all U.S. war efforts from the Civil War through World War I. Written by then Captain King in 1880, it details his service as a lieutenant in the 5th Cavalry during the Sioux campaign of 1876, the same unit where William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody was chief scout and close friend.
