Publisher's Synopsis
As Caprius Seaton and Melina Hampshire travelled along the highway upon his motorbike, they felt light and free, so relieved to put their recent terrible ordeal behind them. Being pawns in the dark lord's plot to rid the people of Alamptria so the undead could rise and take over was an awful burden. Caprius was sore and exhausted after the Goncools doing everything they could to assassinate him, and Melina felt deep grief that so many had had to die on her behalf. Caprius hoped that with the coming of the knight masters the underworld would not be able to succeed in its diabolical plan as the great elf wizard Grongone had much faith in the power of the Vim that it could overshadow these whatever the dark lord Makoor and his undead henchmen and demons had in store. Surely, Caprius mused, the undead underestimated Grongone's power, and their belief that they could best him and destroy him and the Vim of Petoshine was errant. Little was known about Felicia-the Golden Fleece and Grongone's vision of the future enabled him to see the return of Felicia. Though the whereabouts of the book of Bivion were not known, Grongone has had visions of a knight master who would one day find the lost book of Bivion and reunite him with his beloved Felicia. As he considered all of this, Caprius felt his mind expanding to understand the complexity of the situation. He felt stronger and more mentally acute. He knew it was only a matter of time before he fully embraced the Vim before it nurtured him and slowly took hold, strengthening him from within. That brutal attack on him by Samuel Trenton in his teens was when it had all begun, Caprius realized, that's when he was chosen. Grongone had seen this attack. He had recorded it. He had recorded all the fiendish attacks launched against the Seatons in their early years. And not only the Seatons, but the women who would join Caprius and together one day they as a trinity would become the ultimate force to take on the underworld. Caprius knew that much awaited him. And for now, he must bear the sword of justice and undertake the dark lord and his fiendish ghouls. Caprius was smiling now as the wind tossed his hair, mixing it with Melina's as she held him, her warm body against his. The journey back to Elysium was hard won. Caprius' triumphant victory at Regale Point was fought with great strength, determination, and the knowledge of when to make his plan of attack known. He'd known how to hide, escape, and when to attack. He thought tactically and was able to outsmart the Goncools and beat them at their own game. The road ahead was uncertain, but he was ready to accept his true path and the road set forth to him by Grongone, the elf wizard of Petoshine. The sun was setting, alighting on the beautiful autumn evening. The sky was clear, and a faint moon gave off a soft glow. As darkness descended, Caprius joy and relief faded away. He began to feel nervous and uncertain knowing what awaited him. His fears were founded; within a few minutes he saw six helicopters in approach. He knew they were for him: Caprius Seaton; a wanted man for several incidences. The closest one in front spotted him with its light and held Caprius and Melina in the beam as it descended. No other cars were on the road, and there was nowhere he could hide. Up in the first chopper, the pilot radioed the others: "Eagle One to base. We have Caprius Seaton and a passenger in sight. Eagle Two, Eagle Three, Eagle Four, Eagle Five, and Eagle Six set your course for Highway 27. Heading towards Highway 101." Eagle one continued the pursuit. "Take her down lower," the pilot said to his copilot. "I want to get a good look at the girl." The pilot peered through his binoculars. "My god! That's Melina Hampshire," he stammered. "She's alive." He got on the communicator again. "This is Eagle One to base. Caprius Seaton has Melina Hampshire. Melina Hampshire is alive. Repeat. Melina Hampshire is alive."
