Publisher's Synopsis
The number and variety of CD-ROM products has mushroomed since they first appeared on the commercial market in 1985. This book is a reference and guide to this field. It is divided into two distinct parts. The first part is designed to help evaluate the different products available. It provides a picture of the content and performance of 19 CD-ROM products including considerations of the database, the search software, installation procedures and documentation. The guide covers a cross-section of different subjects and product types and includes software from the UK and the USA. The second part is a directory of over 500 CD-ROMs, either available or announced, and arranged by subject. Details of addresses of publishers, suppliers and distributors are given throughout.
