Publisher's Synopsis
Cox (1840-1924) was a Canadian illustrator and author, best known for The Brownies, his series of humorous verse books and comic strips featuring these mischievous but kind-hearted fairy-like sprites. Whilst Cox supplied the text for many of The Brownies titles himself, this short collection of stories published in 1896 was written by E. Veale, the Fairy Tales Authoress.
