To implement PRINCE successfully it is necessary to tune the method to a specific project/organization and to develop supporting project management systems. Most organizations use an external consultancy to help them to implement PRINCE, and consultants generally find that members of the project management team need specific guidance for each of the major PRINCE roles. A concise reason for this is that to find out what each member of a PRINCE project team should do at a particular point, it is necessary to embark on an extensive search across all five volumes of the official PRINCE manuals. This is not an easy task even for an experienced PRINCE practitioner, and this series of nine PRINCE companions has been specifically designed and developed to address this problem.;The roles covered are: project manager; user assurance coordinator (UAC); business assurance coordinator (BAC); project board executive; project board senior user; project board senior tech; stage manager; technical assurance coordinator (TAC); and configuration librarian.;Each companion is organized as follows: a checklist of the tasks to be done by the person at specific times during the project; detailed notes of the what/how/why of each of the tasks in the checklist; and examples of the various forms, documents, agendas and checklists that are needed.;The development of an infrastructure to support PRINCE must be specific to each organization so the companions do not go into fine detail. They do, however, tell the user when and why to seek these details and who to ask.
