Publisher's Synopsis
This is Volume 2 of mainly a photo album and scrapbook of the Burton Baptist church and its 90 year existence. It begins in 2000 and ends with the 90th Anniversary celebration. Burton church has been blessed from its beginnings with dedicated folk who love the Lord, his church and their life so much that they could not resist taking pictures of the activities there with the fervency many only show their first born. When Grace and her camera began to fade. Noni Bade started with her polaroid. You can find these in Volume I. Then last but not least Dana Mead with her digital camera and a ardor that only digital cameras can feed and in numbers that demanded a Volume II of the church history. LH Shuttlesworth kept letters, postcards, sermon outlines, and copies of letters he sent. Since the beginning under his leadership and with the encouragement of VA Vanderhoof there are meticulous records of church activities often recorded in the official books printed by first the American Baptist Convention and then the Southern Baptist convention. These records were kept with accuracy and attention to detail for years and years. The names of those faithful scribes are listed in the back of this book. The author has included notes from business meetings and summaries of big decisions or events which present a chronological history of the church. But the pictures tell the story...
