Publisher's Synopsis
When one hears the declaration, "Blessed be the name of the Lord," it may suggest to the mind one who, because of his or her close relationship with the Lord, recognizes and is thankful for the great blessings received at His hand. There is nothing in this phrase that suggests sadness or despair. Yet it was declared by Job just after hearing that he had simultaneously lost his family, business and possessions. When trials such as these occur, false pretenses of righteousness flee, leaving behind the true character of a man or woman. How was Job able to praise the Lord after learning of such trials? How can we develop that kind of faith and love for God? It is the author's hope that this book will provide the answers to these questions and many more as we seek to follow Christ in the midst of our trials.
