Both types of lumber are very common and can be readily sourced from most home improvement and building supply stores. The choice of lumber boils down to personal preference. The length of the picnic tables is 6-1/2 feet (2 meters). The design and size are very popular, comfortably seating six adults but capable of accommodating more if needed. The design is also very sturdy.
Throughout the book, all measurements are provided in both imperial units (feet and/or inches) and metric units (millimeters), catering to diverse preferences and ease of understanding. For instance, dimensions are presented as follows: 15-3/4" (400 mm). Similarly, the size of lumber is denoted in a dual format, such as 2 x 4 (50 x 100 mm), ensuring clarity for builders worldwide.
