Publisher's Synopsis
Brent Shields' made-for-television film is based on Susan Vreeland's novel 'Girl in Hyacinth Blue' and is said to be one of the most expensive productions for the Hallmark Hall of Fame series. An eccentric history teacher (Glenn Close) has devoted her life to researching the history of a mysterious, priceless work of art painted by Jan Vermeer in the 17th century. She shares her passion for the painting with another teacher (Thomas Gibson) and introduces him to her father. As the past slowly unfolds, so do the lives of the painting's previous owners.
