Publisher's Synopsis
"Broken Samurai is the story of a decorated Vietnam War veteran who fought during the Tet Offensive ad was in some of the fiercest combat of the war. Because of the trauma, and losing his best friend, he developed PTSD. On returning home, Danny was unable to cope with "normal life" and joined a bike gang, where he became a hitman. To justify his killing, he developed his own personal "Samurai Code." He lived by his code, justifying his actions. Then, one day, he broke his own code when he murdered a child who witnessed one of his hits. That broke his personal code and it broke him. While in prison, he talked to Dr. Carlisle who interviewed him for Carlisle's study on violent offenders and what made them kill. This book contains interviews with Danny in his own words, as well as information about his life and his time in Vietnam. While this is a book about one man, it also contains information gleaned from other inmates and war veterans.
