He married Miss Abby White, who was the mother of seven child ren, three of whom died in childhood. The elder daughter resides with her venerable mother, the other married Lieut. Camillus Saun ders, son of Gen. R. M. Saunders, minister to Spain, and a resident of North Carolina. Camillus was lost in the revenue cutter Hamil ton, ou the Charleston bar. The youngest son, named O. H. Perry Taylor, graduated at West Point in 1816, and joined his regiment at the outbreak of the Mexican war, in which he was twice brevetted for gallant conduct. He was killed by the Indians, May 17, 1858, while acting as senior cavalry officer, under 001. Steptoe's command.
