Publisher's Synopsis

Typically, a child who kills an abusive parent is male, between 16 and 18 years old and comes from a white middle-class family. He is of above average intelligence and, although his school work may be below average, he is generally well adjusted in the community. His feelings of isolation have not yet given rise to criminal activity and he usually has no previous criminal convictions The target is usually an abusive father or step-father, and the most common weapon is a gun kept in the home. These children usually display no obvious sign of mental or behavioural disorder, in fact one may choose to see the act of dispatching an abusive parent as one of sanity rather than madness. BORN TO KILL explores the lives of kids who have murdered other kids, kids who have murdered parents and kids who have grown up to become the world's most feared serial killers. All too often these children's lives are spent lurching from abusive episode to abusive episode, eventully culminating in a seemingly unavoidable blood-bath, but are some individuals simply born to kill?
