Bonzo lives with a nuclear family, the Khans, in Clapham South London. Anwar, the Dad, is an illustrator who works from home, while Jen, the Mum, works in an office in town. Zak 12 and Lita 10, attend a local school on Clapham Common. Bonzo obtains local notoriety and the 'Wonder Dog' tag for accidentally discovering a potentially disastrous fire. His reputation grows as future events conspire to bring Bonzo's family and the nefarious activities of the Toolbox Gang together. Unwittingly the gang steals the Cricket World Cup, in London for promotional purposes. Unaware of its significance and value the gang dispose of the Cup which, is later unearthed by the eponymous hero. More celebrity follows for Bonzo and there is much media interest generated. The coverage alerts the crooks to their mistake and they decide to steal back the trophy and kidnap the famous hound to hold both for ransom. Losing the cup before the competition begins is not an option for the organisers and a meeting is held to discuss their options. With the countdown for the opening ceremony of the global competition well and truly underway the pressure to resolve the matter is on. Will the tournament have its trophy for its opening ceremony and more importantly will Bonzo be reunited with the Khan's?
