Publisher's Synopsis

Bonseigneur Rituals is a book that contains a collection of 18th-century Ecossais rituals compiled by Gerry L. Prinsen. The Ecossais rituals are a series of Masonic rituals that originated in France in the 18th century and were later adopted by the Scottish Rite. The book includes a detailed description of each ritual, along with its historical background and significance. It also includes illustrations and diagrams to help readers better understand the rituals. The book is intended for Masonic scholars, historians, and enthusiasts who are interested in learning more about the history and evolution of Masonic rituals. Overall, Bonseigneur Rituals is a comprehensive and informative book that sheds light on an important aspect of Masonic history. This books contains volumes one and two of the original book. These rituals have most probably been in use in an irregular lodge of colored people at Port de Paix, San Domingo. The lodge being situated in an isolated area of the island, there has been no updating of the rituals, a usual procedure during the 18th century. The collection therefore represents a very old version of the ritual, copied around 1785 to serve for the newly erected lodge at New Orleans in 1794. An introduction gives the results of the historical research. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
