Under pressure from blackmailing pal Nicholas Ingaza, the Revd Francis Oughterard journeys to the French Auvergne. The unlikely pair are off in search of buried gold in a chateau once belonging to Mrs Fotherington. Primrose, the vicar's bossy sister, is involved - as is Maurice and Bouncer.
