Publisher's Synopsis
Constantino was a weak man. Flawed but not evil. The burden thrust upon him by the actions of his ancestors is hard to bear. How can he protect the Constantino name? How Can he save his family? How many must die before he summons the courage to do what must be done?
It all began generations ago with the Spanish colonization of the Philippines.
In Cebu in 1565 the European Conquistadors came. They imposed their way of life and religion on the locals who could not resist the well-trained and equipped invaders. They made slaves of the men and concubines of the women forcing them to build fine homes and churches
Rajah Tupas, the deposed former king of Cebu could take no more. With a band of his men he burned down the biggest and most beautiful church, many men and women died. Among them was a young priest, burned alive in the fire. As he died in agony, he cursed the man responsible. It was a solemn curse that would echo through time. Future generations would suffer because of the Rajahs actions.
Eventually the burden fell upon Juan Constantino, a descendant of the bloodthirsty Tupas. Unless he acts, the slaying, the mutilation, the fear, the suffering will pass down through more generations.
The fast-moving story is based on a widely believed legend of a monster living in the basement of a mall in the Philippines, this tale is not for the faint-hearted. Readers of Historical Myths, Horror, and Thrillers will enjoy the pace and intensity of this novella.
