Publisher's Synopsis

Word of missing people circulated throughout parts of the land of Kaldur. People were being taken from villages and small towns and never seen again. At the same time, there were reports of horrifying, unnatural creatures being sighted. Strange things were common in this land, and many different races mingled. Humans, elves, dwarves, and halfling folk were common, and even rarer races like people with orcish or dragon blood weren't unheard of. These abominations, however, were something no one had ever seen before. In a small tavern in a backwater town, a dark elven thief is searching for some sort of work. Through a series of events, she ends up getting hired by a group of adventurers. Her new companions are an odd bunch, but they pay her well.

The group includes an elven ranger and a dwarven blacksmith who appear to have a history together, an elven healer with a scarring childhood, a Thra'Kai warrior who doesn't exactly have the many years of experience most people assume he has, and a human bard who wanted money.

They'd been hired to investigate something possibly related to the kidnappings. The job seems relatively simple at first, all she has to do is sneak into a hidden compound and find the missing people. However, she and her allies quickly find that this job isn't quite what they expected, and they end up hunted and in over their heads.
