Publisher's Synopsis
A Nell Bray mystery... When the suffragette movement is left a painting by campaigner Philomena Venn in her will, it is Nell Bray who is sent by Emmeline Pankhurst to retrieve it. The plan is simple: to collect the picture from Philomena's husband Oliver, take it to Christie's, and sell it to raise much-needed funds for the movement - but the painting he gives her is a fake. When Oliver refuses to hand over the real painting, his son Daniel suggests that Nell should break in and switch the paintings. She reluctantly agrees, but what she discovers is a murder...
