Publisher's Synopsis
The day after substituting DCI James Carrick in a rugby match, DS Cliff Morley's mutilated body is found dumped in woodland near Bristol, the initials RK carved on his torso. Patrick Gillard and his wife, Ingrid Langley, are called in to investigate. At the same time, Carrick asks them to make some enquiries on a private matter.
