When Rachel sets out into the great outdoors for a weekend with her best friend, Betz, she gets more that she bargained for. The simple trip, a weekend nature walk on the nearby secluded reservation, was meant to be the key to Rachel's big story- the front page headline that would boost her up in the world of high school journalism. The story she got was far more than what she'd planned for. Caught in the midst of a long-standing ritual, both supernatural and terrifying, she learns the secret that the tribe has been holding dear, and becomes part of the secret herself. Gaining new friends as well as new enemies, she must learn to adapt to this new world that she's entered.
