Publisher's Synopsis

Double bill of feature drama adaptations. 'The Blind Side' (2009) is based on the book 'The Blind Side - Evolution of a Game' by Michael Lewis and tells the true story of American football star Michael Oher. The homeless son of a crack addict, over-sized black teenager Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) is taken in by the wealthy white Tuohy family after Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) finds him wandering the bitterly cold streets wearing only a thin T-shirt. The Tuohys hire a private tutor, Miss Sue (Kathy Bates), to help Michael with his studies at the mostly white Wingate Christian High School, but it is on the football field that he really excels. As Michael is given the opportunity to fulfil his potential both on and off the football field, his presence in the Tuohys' lives leads them to valuable self-discoveries of their own. Bullock won the 2010 Best Actress Academy Award for her performance. 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' (2008), based on the 1922 short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, tells the story of Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt), who is born an old man and ages backwards before finally reaching babyhood. As his strange and often problematic life unfolds, he meets an assortment of interesting characters, including Daisy (Cate Blanchett), granddaughter of one of the residents in the old people's home where Benjamin 'grows up', with whom he has a lifelong romance.
