Publisher's Synopsis

The story is about two coming of age boys, Billy and Ant, who are best friends until the older boy Billy, has his birthday. He now believes Ant is too childish and they fall out. Billy goes off with lads much older than him and gets into trouble. Pressured by older boys, Billy steals Ant's bicycle, but he realises things have gone too far and admits to Ant he stole it. The boys become friends again. The confident pride Billy feels that he is a good person overrides the arrogant pride that nearly caused him to lose his best friend. He has the courage to admit he was wrong, but knowing he can be honest about how he feels is the best reward he could have.
