This is an introduction to the theory of poetry, both Western and Chinese, accompanied by 69 poems, most are complete, with bilingual presentations. It encompasses paragraphs from early Western authors like Hesoid, Homer's Illiad, Boethius, and recent ones like Walt Whitman, H. D. and Thoreau, and verses from Chinese Book of Songs (Poetry), Qu Yen (father of Chinese poetry after Book of Songs), Li Po, Du Fu, Bai Juyi, among many other distinguished literati. A chapter is devoted to the massive contribution of Chinese women to the literary world, which is unique in human history. This book also includes a full English translation of the popular folk poem, Mulan, from which Walt Disney had produced a very popular cartoon by the same name. The bilingual presentation is accompanied with analysis of the poems, the background and the meanings and intentions of the authors. The current edition is written in Chinese, and an English edition is under preparation.
