Everyone loves vintage Santa Claus illustrations, from antique post and greeting cards ... that is why they have been heavily reproduced for more modern holiday decorations! Vintage Santas have a certain old-time era portrayal of innocence and charm delightfully reminiscent of one's own childhood ... waiting for Santa to come down the chimney! Each of the books in this two-volume set of illustrations were compiled from the author's forays into dusty antique shops to find exquisite representations of Santa Claus illustrations that were between 70 - 150 years old to offer hobby colorists a fun opportunity to add their own media to these illustrations. The illustrations were scanned, enhanced, then converted to gray-scale so hobby colorists could determine what colors they wished to use on the drawing.
The book is standard publisher paper (60# weight) and non-perforated paper with glue binding. Colorists can choose to use dry media (crayons or colored pencils) or wet media (markers, gel pens, or paints). It is advised to use thick blotter paper between pages to avoid bleed onto the next page to complete the beautiful and rich illustrations if the colorist uses markers, paints, or gel pens that bleed through paper.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Dawn D. Boyer, Ph.D. has been drawing since she was five years old and attended Virginia Commonwealth University's, Bachelor of Art Program, and then re-engaged later at Radford University, earning her BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration. Over the years, she has developed a distinctive style for her pen and ink illustrations of old barns and houses, as well as Colonial Williamsburg architectural portraiture. This is used to her advantage in creating imaginative illustrations of the delightful fairy houses and fairy doors.
She is the author of 670+ books on the topics of business, career search practices, women and gender studies, quotes, genealogy, and 98+ coloring books for adults.
