Publisher's Synopsis

Big Jim and the Tamarack Queen is a fictional story based on the fact that a dance hall once existed on an island in Lake Tamarack and the steam boat, "The Valley Queen", that carried passengers to and fro sometime around the early 1900s. Surely there must have been both curiosity by some and cursing by those opposed for this was a typical small, rural village. Today, nothing remains (but rumors) and no one seems to know or recall whatever really happened to the structure. One can only imagine the goings on there and the anger it may have aroused in some of the townsfolk. But, now that we have this story, both you and I know the outcome...perhaps?
