Publisher's Synopsis
In the 1990s, disparate elements of the northern NJ poetry scene began to coalesce into what some have called "The Palisades Poetry Movement." This anthology presents the work of 39 poets who have read in the North Jersey Poetry Series since 1997. The editors have diligently selected and arranged representative works by poets working in a wide variety of styles. Although the NJ landscape and shore color some of the poems, topics include Casanova, bound feet in Ming China, Michelangelo's sculpture, Scott Joplin, John Coltrane, the Phantom of the Opera, and the supernatural aspects of daddy-long-leg spiders.
