Publisher's Synopsis
Bettina Blohm (b. 1961) vividly combines nature and abstraction: In her drawings, she condenses the ever-changing rhythms and structures of landscapes to spontaneous notations; in her paintings, she then transfers these impressions into an abstract syntax to create open compositions in layers of colour full of luminosity, which are evidence of an analysis of both Matisse and Abstract Expressionism. Bettina Blohm moved to New York in 1984, later establishing a second studio in Berlin.
