A one act docu-drama for large ensemble either adults or senior youth. This stylized piece of theatre uses a text based on the original transcripts of the Derek Bentley case of 1953. It takes its inspiration from his sister Iris's forty year fight to win him a full pardon. The story is well known and documented but this play concentrates on those who tried to build a case to prove his innocence. and spans from 1953 to 1998. There are multi-characters and chorus work and the whole piece is presented in black with motif props and accessories The role of Iris is central with two young men playing Derek and Chris Craig -all other parts double. An excellent play for festivals and schools, This won best play 2011 at the Leverhulme Drama festival and was a semi-finalist in the All England Theatre Festival and place 3rd in the Geoffrey Whitworth Playwriting competition.
