In a women's refuge, six women from very different backgrounds come together at crucial times in their lives. Despite their differences, their initial dislike of each other gradually subsides as they find a common cause which unites them. As they grow closer, their battered bodies and bruised souls begin to mend and a belief that they can heal emerges.
