Publisher's Synopsis
From August 1914 Belgian people, many of them women and children, began to arrive in Britain seeking shelter from the war. Many arrived in Lincolnshire and Hull, where people provided homes, clothes and food, and raised money for their support. At the end of the war the refugees were shipped back home.
