The NMC 'Future Nurse' guidelines have extended the breadth and depth of the knowledge and skills required to become a UK registered nurse. At the same time a new Test of Competence (ToC) comes into use for non-EU overseas nurses wishing to work in the UK. The requirements for the ToC have been modified to match the 'Future Nurse' standards.
