Cadie Scott is a graduate student who is on her way to becoming a certified physical therapist to help soldiers who have been injured in combat. She herself knows the mental demons one has to conquer to be able to move on after trauma. Born to an alcoholic father who never wanted a kid, much less a daughter, and a mother who couldn't handle the responsibility, Cadie has had her fair share of trauma. Struggling with self doubt, fear, and moving on, she finds herself closed off from the world. One day, Cadie cancels a blind date with Dylan when her work gets in the way. However, she keeps running into him places, at the library, the beach, and the grocery store. There was an instant connection that makes Cadie want to put her heart out there. But it scares her, forcing her to take a look at her walls and decide if it's worth it to let love in.
