At age 83, he attends weekly Toastmasters meetings in Chilliwack, B.C. He has been writing for more than 20 years. "I have in my portfolio about 80 short stories, 10 novellas, essays, children's poems, 80 adult poems, one nonfiction, and two biographies." He was inspired to write this novel by his experiences flying in the backwoods over the B.C. coast, his years spent working in first aid, and by wilderness living.
