Publisher's Synopsis

"Mort Guerre Civil" (Died in the Civil War) was written in French by the late Avoyelles historian Corinne Saucier on a list of soldiers that included Pierre Brouillette who died in the war. He was one of over 100 soldiers and citizens who lost their lives who were either from Avoyelles or who died in Avoyelles Parish. They lost their lives from disease and battle, on battlefields and hospitals. The list of dead sadly includes a mother who was fatally injured in the safety of her own home on Bayou Des Glaises in Moreauville. This book is the last to be published in 2015 of a series of the 150th Anniversary Series of the Civil War in Avoyelles which began in 2011. The war drug on from 1861 to 1865 and was the most devastating event in the history of Avoyelles Parish. The war brought death, injury and destruction to an area which had previously been prosperous.
