When 11-year-old Meg Cooper tells her parents that she doesn't want to go to Orange Fest this year, they are shocked. You can't live in Marmalade Falls "The Citrus Capital of Australia" and not go to Orange Fest.
It would be like missing Christmas. Or skipping your birthday.

Meg isn't trying to cause a fuss. She just doesn't find oranges as "a-peeling" as everyone else in town does. And she's sure that this year's festival will be the same as every other year: people dressed in orange, eating orange snacks, looking at oranges and talking about nothing but oranges.

However, what Meg doesn't know is that this year the festival has a brand-new attraction.
