Compact groups of galaxies have been the subject of 'Considerable interest since the discovery of the first compact group by Stephan in 1877. The Atlas of Compact Groups of Galaxies, based on an article ",published in Astrophysical Letters & Communications, presents optical images of all 100 of these groups, assembled from CCD images obtained at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT).
