Ezra tells his touching story of family love, laughter and loss while looking back to the years most influential in his young life. Living on a cattle ranch among Colorado's northern Rockies, his life in the 1950's unfolds as we are introduced to his two brothers, a sister, Gramps, Grandma and their two ranch hands. They are necessary for the ranch's success and prove to be ideal personalities influencing the four young children. Gramps and Grandma are the poles from which everything revolves.
