Publisher's Synopsis

At The Monarch is the story of Bobby Stone and his sudden acquisition of fortune. Bobby lives at the Monarch, a 12-unit apartment building in North Hollywood. Bobby is a painter, currently working as a laborer. One day, harvesting the hardwood floors from a condemned building, he drops his hammer into the unfinished basement. While retrieving the hammer he discovers a long-abandoned safe.

At The Monarch is the story of the sequential and unintended consequences of Bobby dropping his hammer. Eventually, though not always directly, everyone at the Monarch is affected. Comedy, tragedy, irony, and true love are explored in turn. Our tale concludes with the arrival of autumn, the death of old dreams, and the birth of new ones.
