Publisher's Synopsis
A'sawan was born to Indian parents, Sky Lark and Running Wolf. Predestined to help her people through difficult times of transition from nomadic into a civilized life style, she is strong willed and very intelligent, willing to put her faith to the test against dangerous odds. This is a story of cattle rustling, hidden gold and the working closeness of Indians and a few white men. The hate and jealousy mixed with greed and murders keeps everyone on their toes. A mountain lion, dogs, cattle, and horses join in the making of a community where hard work and love brings everything to bloom magically, with the help of her Spiritual Warriors. Barbara L. McBride, York, Pennsylvania, learned her great-grandmother was a Seneca Indian Princess, wedded to her fur trapper great-grandfather. She became interested in stories about Native Americans. She won first prize for her short story, and contributed stories to the local library on the Seminole Indians. Always active in sports, she retired from US Government Civil Service as a Youth Sports Director, and currently resides with her husband Mike in Clermont, Florida.
