Publisher's Synopsis
Real life can be surprising. One morning, you drive to work full of hope. Next, you find a dead body instead of the business meeting you expect. What does finding make you responsible for? Do you look for clues or leave it to the professionals? What do you do?
Vincent DiMora (aka Vinnie the Brush) begins his workweek with a murder. He tries to keep life on an even keel, but the unusual keeps intruding. With the questions in the investigation, he wonders if he may be a suspect. Will Vinnie find the answer to his problems? If he does the right things, will his life get back to normal?
Fortunately, Vinnie finds a friend in Detective Harley Bettencourt, the lead in the investigation, and Vinnie's usual curiosity gives him a part to play. But why did someone kill the harmless realtor? Jealousy? Money? Business? And what about the new developer and his knock-out wife? They seem to be troubled about something.
Arterial Red is the first of several novels involving the life and times of Vinnie the Brush, a small town sign painter in the NorCal town of Riverglen. Together with his wife, Marti, they have grown up in the part-agricultural and part-metropolitan life of the Central Valley. Somehow, between her flower shop and his sign business, something is always happening around town and frequently trying to do the right thing can get them into trouble. The only solid thing they can trust is that God is faithful.
