Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Art Education: An Investigation of the Training Available in New York City for Artists and Artisans
That this pamphlet may be of service in vocational guidance, we have tried to Show clearly, on the one hand, the various industries in which young people with artistic inclinations may find congenial and profitable employment, and, on the other, where training in the art industries may be obtained. The num ber of blank spaces in the right-hand column of the list of indus tries indicates how many there are which can be learnt at present only by long years of work in the trade. The old apprenticeship system now exists only in a few lines and in modified form.
