Publisher's Synopsis

[Art 219-245. More recent provisional regulations/regulation authorisations]
German private law does not recognise any general regulation of provisional law. However, since 1985 the legislators have been collating the provisional regulations especially regarding more important law amendments in the 5th and 6th parts of the EGBGB. This volume contains a comprehensive commentary on this new generation of provisional regulations. Its emphasis is placed on the explanation of Articles 230 - 237 of the EGBGB and associated regulations through which German reunification has been legally absorbed since 1990 and which are still important in the treatment of legal questions in relation to the former GDR and to the new German Federal States. Of current concern are still the provisional regulations of the far-reaching legal amendments of the 14th legislative period (tenancy law reform, law of obligations modernisation, compensation amendment law etc) and the consumer-protection regulation authorisations in the 7th part of the EGBGB).
