For 84 days, over 2,000 straight hours, Carr orbited the Earth on board Skylab 4, setting a new record for time in space. Carr could have been the 16th man to walk on the Moon if the Apollo 19 mission hadn't been cancelled. In addition to Skylab 4, this book recounts the achievements of Colonel Carr both before entering the astronaut program and after leaving it.
