Arnaldo fu Bresciano non sol di domicilio ma an cora di nascita. Non si può tuttavolta hen accertare s' egli nascesse in città, o in alcun luogo del contado, non tro vand osi ciò scritto; ma è più probabile che fosse citta dino. Alcuno de' nostri scrittori ha detto ch' ci in no bilissimo, ma non ci dice d' onde abbia presa questa notizia; ed è noto, che un secolo prima gli scrittori lavoravano francamente di fantasia. L' essere però Ar naldo stato mandato sino in Francia agli studj, dimo stra che la sua famiglia non era povera di facoltà.
