Now, all Poetry is an imitation, as also flute and cithernplaying, but they differ either in the means, the objects, or the manner of their imitation. 6. But custom has falsely connected the name of poet with the metre only, and not with their manner of imitation, as is shown in the case of Empedocles and Chaeremon. 10.
