What on earth was happening? Another day dawned in the Great Estate, the townsfolk felt drained of energy and life was being drawn from the land. It had happened so gradually that many did not notice, but residents at Ull realised that something was very wrong! So begins a journey with Penn Maegwyth, Af Omer and Whome, who set out to seek the Book of the Land and find the answer to the problem. Facing difficulties in the Dixhide, respite in the Skorner and protected by Skothir, they finally reach Esvair Llethrin, home of the Floddir, a race of shape-shifters. From here, they enter the forbidding Halh, where a battle for survival takes place. Entailing hardships and hazards, visiting secret places and meeting strange creatures, it is at the Hoo of Old Dathca that they finally come to an unexpected conclusion!
