Publisher's Synopsis
At Approachable Leadership our mission is to help you tackle 3 major challenges facing most businesses today: - The Cooperation Gap (3/4 of all change projects fail, and 53% of those projects destroy value); -The Enthusiasm Gap (71% of employees are disengaged, costing companies $550 billion); and -The Talent Gap (20% of workers will voluntarily quit this year, costing businesses $11 billion). These issues are stumbling blocks to success. Many companies mistakenly attack these challenges with a "whack-a-mole" approach that drains resources and energy. How does Approachability address these challenges?- Approachable leaders see 88% more "above and beyond" behavior from their teams.- Employees with Approachable leaders are 89% more likely to be engaged.- Turnover intention decreases by 71%.The Approachable Leadership Learning System can replace or complement your current leader development strategy. Use our content with your current internal trainers (with support from our learning coaches) or bring our coaches to your company to implement the leaving system. Leadership is hard. Some days - like after helping an employee through a rough patch or watching your team rise to the occasion and reach a big goal - you feel like you've got it nailed. Other days (if you're anything like me) you wonder if you know anything about leadership at all. It can be a struggle. My views about what works (and doesn't work) were learned in the trenches - and it's during the toughest times that you see the best leaders shine. After watching some leaders succeed and others fall flat on their faces, I started asking a question you've probably asked too: What separates good leaders from those who fail? It turns out this question isn't so easy to answer. Many people who seem like they'd be great leaders are actually horrible. And then there are others you underestimate as "not leadership material," only to discover that their people would run into a burning building for them. What often makes the difference is something I call Approachable Leadership. Phillip B. Wilson, President of Labor Relations Institute and the founder of Approachable Leadership.
