Publisher's Synopsis
Lieutenant Timothy O' Hagan had fought the Apache, knew their language and customs, and respected them. He also knew when an Apache went bad, and to him Contreras was a bad Apache. Osgood Sickles, Agent-in-Charge of the San Carlos Apache Reservation, disagreed. Sickles felt that O'Hagan was just trying to make trouble for him because O'Hagan's sweetheart had married him instead. Not until Sickles finds himself facing Contreras's violence does he see that O'Hagan may be right.
